Posted on 05. Dec, 2008 by Trond in Rich Niche Blogging

Working from home is a dream for many, and paramount to working from home is the job hunt. It’s a tough field to break into blogging—everyone is doing it, again and again, so you need to offer not only the basics, but your experience. You offer your best ideas of turning a work from home career toward profit, always with an eye on the online world. This niche guide explains just that.

Work From Home –Career

Some bloggers base their entire careers on finding jobs for others. Some standard site owners do exactly that.  It’s no mystery why Monster, CareerBuilder, and HotJobs are still in business: everyone needs jobs. And everyone wants better jobs! They want the jobs to turn into careers, the careers to offer them a newfound freedom. It’s your job as a work from home blogger to provide more than job listings, but also writing.

Offering Hope and Realism:

Not everyone is fit for a work from home job, no matter how much they dream of it. The reality is, just as few new businesses succeed to bring an income, work from home careers often end badly. Now, don’t state that exactly, because offering hope is important too. Yet creating a “Get Rich Quick” scheme and not being honest will turn away many of your most experienced readers. If you succeeded in building a work from home career, however, you can help them make this career a success.

Using Your Experience:

Your experience, even if you’re not a career work from home person, is invaluable. Say you blog for some passive income but hold a day job. You are transitioning from your day job to a comfortable work from home career. To take advantage of this, you can write on transitioning to a different career, offer personal experience stories on how you found freelance work from home opportunities and full time ones, even author columns on your day to day business. Experience is your most valuable tool, especially if you’re a success story; it makes blog readers want to visit again.

Make Money Online:

The “Work From Home” keyword used to be creative gold for just about everyone online. It’s overused today. Go to a job board for freelancers, and you’ll see dozens of ads offering high hourly rates and benefits. Of course, many of these are get rich quick schemes. Many readers have seen so many they ignore them, which hurts you the blogger. That makes it better to focus your blogging niche even more. If you’re a magazine writer, offer listings of magazines hiring on assignment or hiring editors. Whatever work from home field you’re in, you need some more specific keywords and keyword phrases to stand out from all the common sites and blogs publishing.
